The Fog Clock
San Francisco is not one climate. Twin Peaks blocks the marine push, so on the same summer afternoon the Mission can sit 15°F warmer than Ocean Beach four miles west. Drag the hour and see which side of the ridge is worth being on.
A typical summer pattern, not a forecast: coastal fog usually thins around 10–11am, the ocean wind pushes it back roughly 3–4pm, and it often clears again after 5pm. Strong July marine pushes can hold the Outer Sunset in all day. Winter behaves differently — clearer air, colder wind.
